More about Ziggy & Batman
Now that these two are ready for adoption, I thought it would be helpful for folks to know what I’ve learned about them over the month-and-a-half they’ve been with me.
- They play HARD, but there’s never any sign of aggression so don’t worry.
- But as quickly as a frenzied play session begins, it will often end up with the two of them curled up on my lap, draped over each other.
- The only problem is if one of them is on my lap and the other one wants to play from beneath. Sharp little claws!
- They aren’t crazy about being picked up and held—they start to squirm after a few seconds—but once they curl up on your lap and go to sleep they’re fine with your hands on them.
- They follow me everywhere, even if I leave the room for only 15 or 20 seconds.
- I have to close the bedroom door at night because their nighttime playing often takes place on the bed.
- They’ve gotten very interested in exterior doors, so pay attention when you come and go.
- I give them a little canned food (Purina One for kittens) but they happily eat dry food (Purina kitten chow).
- They definitely know the sound of a treats package shaking.
- They love the cat tower and spend a lot of time on top (about six feet high).
- They’ll play with any toys but there’s no need to spend a lot on new ones. They’ll play with wine corks, paper towels and empty boxes with equal happiness.
- QUIRKY THING: As often as not, they go in the litter box together. (They are VERY closely bonded.)
- ANOTHER QUIRKY THING: When I’m scooping, they’re right there wanting to get in the box. I have to lift them out over and over to get the job done.
(Be sure to check out the previous post with all the pictures.)
