THELMA & LOUISE (Part 1)
For my first foster experience with Fat Kitty City, they gave me not one but two cats. Thelma and Louise are mom and daughter, ages about 9 1/2 and 8. They’re very tightly bonded and need to be adopted together.
They’ve been in the adoption display at Petco in Folsom for a while, and while Thelma put on her best face and seemed attentive and outgoing, Louise was nervous and reserved. To be blunt, Louise didn’t “show” well. It’s reasonable for a prospective adopter to want a cat who’s sociable, maybe even playful, and Petco wasn’t the best setting for Louise.
So the plan is for the two of them to get comfortable in a calm place, and let people see their true selves.
As soon as we came home the first evening, they of course explored the place. I live in a small apartment so there weren’t a lot of places to go.

Within an hour, Thelma let it be known what she likes.

Louise, however, gave me just a quick once-over before heading under the bed.

And before the evening was over, Thelma advised me that she is definitely a Lap Kitty.

I think Thelma is ready to orient herself and be comfortable in a forever home. Louise needs some more time, though.
