I said earlier that aside from sleeping, eating and sitting around, CC doesn’t do much of anything. Well imagine my surprise a few days ago when I saw her playing with a ball!

I have these little cedar balls, about an inch in diameter, that you put in your dresser drawers; they’re supposed to keep moths out or something like that. Anyway they’re ancient and long past smelling of cedar. They’ve been on the living room floor since about two foster cats ago, untouched by CC, at least until now.

So I’m watching TV when I hear a sound, a sort of tap. I leaned forward to see over the coffee table, and there was CC, pawing at one of these cedar balls. She’d rolled it against a book. I watched as she batted it back and forth a few times, each time rolling it only three or four inches.

It’s a start!
